The BT 2025 CountdownBrian Cormell
In a recent announcement, BT have stated that they are switching off ISDN services with the intention of migrating all current customers over to the IP Network by 2025.
What does this mean for me?
If you currently have ISDN2/30 installed in your business premises, you will have to move over to SIP (Session Initiation Protocol). This can cause issues for businesses that are happy with their current telephone system, due to your system needing to be re-configured or in some cases completely upgraded in order to support SIP. Unfortunately, if your system cannot be upgraded to accept SIP, then businesses would need to look at finding a new premises-based SIP PBX – alternatively, you can take advantage of the opportunity to move to a Cloud Based Phone System.
Fortunately, Birmningham Telecom provide both services and we can assist you with the transition, we can even port your existing BT numbers so you can retain historical/valuable phone numbers.
